Pink Glitter Shoes

I have been waiting and waiting for Charlotte to get big enough to wear these shoes(all while wanting her to stay small). They are size 4, still a little big but simply the cutest shoes I have ever seen. I bought them when she was just a baby from JC Penny on clearance for $3.99. The best deal for simply fabulous shoes. I liked them so much I bought a size 7 too. What little girl wouldn't love hot pink glitter shoes. Simply fabulous.

First Day on the Bus

Bella rode the bus to school for the first time today. She was very eager so we were waiting out on our chair in the front yard at least 20minutes before the scheduled pick up time. A close friend of mine came by so we were able to get this picture of Bella and myself. Thanks Celeste! I don't often get pictures of myself and definitely wasn't expecting it this morning, as you can tell by the lack of personal grooming. I was dressed for my morning jog as you can see.

Bella Starting Kindergarten

Bella had her first day at Kindergarten today. I can't believe it is here already. Such a big girl now. Unfortunately here in Claremont they only have half day for kindergarten so she is only at school from 8:10-11:10am. She had a fabulous time, was very excited and had a lot to report when I picked her up today. She likes her teacher and says she has 14 kids in her class. She knew quite a few girls and at least one boy before school started so she was pretty happy about going. We live in such a small town that we were bound to know at least a couple of kids in her class. Tomorrow, another first arrives - she takes the bus for the first time. She is beyond excited about that too. Took a few snapshots on our way out into the car. Such a cutie!

Swimming Lessons

Tonight was family night at swim lessons which means the whole family gets to go into the pool area and watch them demonstrate the skills they have learned. So off we all went to watch Bella. Everyone was tired as we had had a big day playing outside for almost the entire day. Charlotte was in no mood to be confined to a chair and was wanting to run around on the pool deck. So after taking a few pictures of Bella swimming and the kids watching I took Charlotte and Peyton outside to walk around and wait until the lesson was over. There is a glass door outside where we could see in so my hope was to have the kids watch from there. We hadn't taken 5 steps out the door when Charlotte fell teeth first onto the concrete. Screams came first, blood came second and my panic came closely behind that. Back into the changing rooms we went to try to stop the bleeding and get a better look at what damage had been done. Couldn't see much but there is a definite chip out of one of her front teeth. What is it with my girls and their front teeth? Six months ago Bella fell teeth first into the hardwood flooring and has since had a brown front tooth. And now Charlotte, a chipped front tooth. Poor little thing. It's so hard watching them learning to walk. They are so clumsy. Makes you want to just carry them everywhere but of course that is not possible. It's so hard for a mom to see her little ones hurt.

OFS

I have officially diagnosed myself with OFS - Olympic Fatigue Syndrome. Some of you may know exactly what I am talking about. The dull headache, the inability to pry your eyes open in the early hours of the morning, the redness covering the majority of the whites of the eyes. All brought on by the repetitive late night viewing of every Olympic moment televised. It's a good thing MS NBC moved to digital cable right before the games began. We only have regular cable and don't get that channel. Fortunately and unfortunately it means that I have missed the majority of team sports which would have been cool to see. So please, if you see me around town, just excuse the physical symptoms you will notice on my face, specifically the dark circles beneath my eyes. It won't go away until after the Olympics are over, oh! and all three of my kids sleep through the night!!!!!!!

Photo Shoot

Had a photo shoot this afternoon and I must say I haven't been this excited about taking pictures in a long time. Wow, was it fun. Photography is just something that gets my adrenaline flowing and these are two of the most gorgeous girls I know, along with mine of course!!!!! And, could they look any cuter in my tutus......? Promised their mom I would get some pics for her to see tonight. Enjoy!

Be Nice Please

If I hear myself say this one more time I think I'm going to scream. The past couple of days have been a little trying in our house. Lots of thunderstorms means lots of time indoors which in turn translates into too much time on my son's hands to torment his sisters. And boy is he turning it on these days. Although things can't be worse than the 2's I do wonder what the 4's are going to bring. As I was looking through some photos the other day I found this one of Peyton at 17 months looking so lovingly into his sister's eyes. And I wonder where that gentle, quiet little guy has gone. Then he'll do something so adorable like let his little sister hold his silky blanket or he'll rub the corner of it on her cheek and I remember that he is still there. Sometimes, it's just a little harder to see.

Soccer Season Coming to a Close

We have two games left of the 2008 summer soccer season. It's Bella's first season playing an organized sport. She has had a great time and has learned a lot. Since neither Chris nor I played soccer, we have learned a lot too. She has had a great set of coaches, very patient and kind and they made sure every kid got equal playing time. We were very impressed. Can only hope her future sporting experiences are all this good.

Weekend Over

This weekend was a fun one. We spent some time at a friend's house for cookout. The boy on the trike is her youngest. The food was amazing and the company just as good. The kids had a fun time and spent time in the pool regardless of the rain. Bella finally had a chance to hang out with another girl a little older than her so we hardly saw her. Sunday flew by, with house work, yard work and painting of furniture. In addition to feeding and bathing and doing all those necessary things. The night is passing equally quick so I'd best post this and get back to work. Hope the week goes just as well.
