No Power

Once again we have been hit with a storm that has destroyed a few essential power lines leading to our neighborhood. Right now the electric company estimates we could be a few days without power. Rats!!!! Please call me if you have questions that need immediate attention as I have no access to email, unless my dear friends let me crash their homes and computers for a bit. 603.542.6724.......Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We are at least lucky enough to have a secondary source of heat so we won't freeze any time soon.

Meet Flake....................

Woke up this morning with a lot of snow on the ground. Hard to believe two days ago we were running around in the mud as the temps have been so warm. We were starting to think that winter forgot about us. We haven't had snow for a while and what was on the ground was melting away. We have actually been seeing the grass which is normally unheard of in these parts during winter. The snow was heavy and packed well so Peyton and I built a snowman. My first one of this size. We were outside for quite a while, it was actually tolerable for a change. Not so for tomorrow though as I hear rain and then more snow is on the way, along with high winds. Yuck! Changes are coming and so is more snow. Charlotte even made an effort to get off the couch and even dressed herself to come out after she saw Flake from the window. So we would like to introduce you to Flake, such a chunky guy!

My Crew

Had some fun on Monday afternoon. The temps were in the 40s which made for a nice time. Bella turned 7 earlier this month and a week later she lost her first tooth, not the brown one that we are all eagerly awaiting but one of the bottom ones - it's a start. Neither Peyton nor Charlotte were too into the shoot but we managed to get a few of them regardless. We had another little friend along that afternoon so Peyton was definitely not interested in having his portraits done. And they found a little frozen section of ice in the swamp that they couldn't resist breaking (and falling in to!). Then there's Charlotte, all she wants to do these days is hang out in her underwear and watch tv, lazy little thing! Thankfully Bella indulged me......and then asked if she could have a dollar since she did so well posing for me. Oh boy, you know where this is heading. Now I have to pay her to pose for me. So glad I got this shoot in as today we got about 10 inches of snow. And built a big old snowman. See more of him in the next post. The adorable hats my girls are wearing were made by my dear friend Kristin Kebalka. I have her contact info available if anyone is interested in her handy work. She is fantastic with knitted/crocheted things.

So here's a few of my favorites. So glad they got their dad's genes. Aren't they cute?

Hanging with the Girls

I've recently started getting together with a couple of other photogs here in town. We have a great time, talk about things that work and things that we struggle with, and go out and about shooting around. Nothing but fun! So meet Beth from Beth Rexford Photography, Newport NH and Stacy Bathrick from Catch a Glimpse Photography, also from Claremont.
This first image was taken with our self timer. It was a work out that day!

Last Saturday....

....was a big day. Began with Peyton's hockey game in Saxtons River, Vermont where he scored three goals!!!!! Yeah Bud! Home for lunch and then out to the local ski hill (Arrowhead Rocks!!!!!) for some tubing and snowboarding, although after my fall in January I am yet to get back on....and probably won't! So no images of me, thankfully. We took another brother/sister combo who our kids just love hanging out with. Here are some pics from our recent adventure.

First up, lacing up the skates. My two boys!!!

FYI

Just wanted to alert people about a recent situation. I know how happy many of you were for me to be displaying my images in the Birthing Pavilion at DHMC. Unfortunately they have all been taken down so please, if you were planning on making a special trip up there to see them, save yourself the time and effort. I thank you all for your support and congratulations. We are working with the hospital to resolve the issues. I must say, it's been a learning experience for all of us. Thanks again for your support - maybe someday things will change!

Lindsay + Matt - Engaged!!!!!!

Oh what a fun couple these guys are. Just recently engaged and fully into planning their special day coming up August 2010. I have known Lindsay for about 5 years now - hard to believe really. Such a wonderful lady, so full of energy and such a sweetheart. Having spent only a brief amount of time with Matt I know these guys are going to be so happy together. It's so fun to see such love between two people. So new, so fresh and so completely into each other. I wish you all the best guys. I am so excited for you both, and your families.
